Melody Johnson drove in four runs on three hits to lead Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints past Malvern 26-6 on Monday. Johnson doubled in the third scoring two, singled in the first scoring one, and doubled in the second scoring one. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints got on the board in the top of the first inning after Saniyah Weston hit a sacrifice fly, Johnson singled down the left field line, and Ryann Walker was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Weston tripled, scoring one run, Johnson doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints scored eight runs on seven hits in the top of the third inning. Jessica Selinsky drew a walk, scoring one run, Weston singled, scoring one run, Johnson doubled, scoring two runs, Walker grounded out, scoring one run, Tessa Williams drew a walk, scoring one run, and Selinsky doubled, scoring two runs. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints scored seven runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning. Addi Meryo drew a walk, scoring one run, Miya Olson singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Maci May singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Walker drew a walk, scoring one run. Williams earned the win for Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints. The pitcher surrendered one hit and two runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking none. Moore took the loss for Malvern. The starter went three and one-third innings, surrendering 18 runs (16 earned) on 13 hits, striking out one and walking five. Selinsky and Walker each appeared in relief for Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints amassed 19 hits in the game. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints's Olson, the number nine hitter, led Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints with four hits in five at bats.
