Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints Walk-Off In Nail-Biter Against Western Reserve By GameChanger Media It came down to the wire on Saturday, as Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 24-23, over Western Reserve. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints were down 23-22 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Lynsie Tienarend singled, scoring two runs. Miya Olson homered in the third and fourth innings. Olson hit two home runs in the victory. Western Reserve got on the board in the top of the first inning after H Darney doubled down the left field line, and A Hendon grounded out, each scoring one run. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints took the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the first thanks to singles by Saniyah Weston, and Olson. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Maci May doubled to left field, Ellen Norris tripled to right field, and Jessica Selinsky flew out, each scoring one run. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the third inning. Olson hit a solo home run to center field, Norris singled, scoring one run, Selinsky doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run. Western Reserve scored seven runs on six hits in the top of the fourth inning. C Endsley doubled, scoring two runs, E Kale grounded out, scoring one run, K Ramsey singled, scoring one run, S Reigle tripled, scoring one run, a dropped third strike scored one run, and Moran singled, scoring one run. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to right field by Olson. Western Reserve flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring nine runs on eight hits to take the lead, 18-12. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Kale that drove in two. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the sixth, scoring six runs on two hits to take the lead, 21-19. The biggest blow in the inning was a ground out by Ryann Walker that drove in three. Western Reserve took the lead, 23-21, in the top of the seventh thanks to doubles by Reigle, and Darney. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints took the lead, 24-23, in the bottom of the seventh thanks to singles by Weston, and Tienarend. Tessa Williams opened the game for Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints. The pitcher gave up 20 hits and 23 runs (10 earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking four. M Kale started in the circle for Western Reserve. The starter surrendered 17 hits and 18 runs (12 earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking four. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints piled up 19 hits in the game. Norris set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints with five hits in six at bats. Selinsky, Olson, Weston, and Tienarend each drove in three runs for Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints. Cece Hostetler led Tuscarawas Central Catholic Varsity Lady Saints with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Western Reserve collected 20 hits in the game. Reigle went 5-for-6 at the plate and led the team with five runs batted in. Q Miller, Ramsey, Darney, and Endsley each collected multiple hits for Western Reserve. Ramsey stole two bases. Western Reserve stole four bases in the game.
