The Saints varsity volleyball team battled through a competitive first set before taking control and defeating Ridgewood in four sets, 24-26, 25-10, 25-10, 25-13. After narrowly dropping the opening set, the Saints responded with three dominant sets to close out the match. The Saints’ offense was especially impressive, with strong hitting and aggressive attacks keeping Ridgewood on its heels. Miya Olson led the offensive attack with an outstanding .556 hitting percentage, recording 22 kills, along with 5 digs, 3 blocks and an ace. Her consistent attacking was a major factor in the Saints’ offensive success. Jessica Selinsky controlled the offense with 44 assists, while adding 10 digs, 1 ace and 1 block. Reese Knight contributed 10 kills and 7 aces, while Elena Dodson added 7 kills. Lucy Oberholzer finished with 4 kills and 1 block. The Saints also got strong defensive and serving performances throughout the match. Ryann Walker recorded 12 digs and 3 aces, Kieran Fausel added 13 digs and 4 aces, and Suzanna Sica-Calel contributed 5 digs. After losing a close opening set, the Saints showed great composure and determination, responding with three straight commanding wins. The strong serving, defense and aggressive hitting helped the Saints finish the night on top. JV Falls in Three The Saints JV team battled Ridgewood in a hard-fought three-set match, ultimately falling 19-25, 25-11, 26-28.
