TCC Volleyball Sweeps Newcomerstown Tuscarawas Central Catholic picked up a straight-set victory over Newcomerstown, defeating the Trojans 25-22, 25-17, 25-22. The Saints had a balanced offensive attack led by Elena Dodson with 11 kills. Ryann Walker added 8 kills, while Reese Knight finished with 5. Jessica Selinsky and Lucy Oberholzer each recorded 3 kills, and Kamryn Fausel added 2. Selinsky directed the offense with 22 assists. TCC also put together a strong night from the service line, totaling 15 aces. Selinsky led the Saints with 4 aces, while Walker, Dodson and Suzanna Sica-Calel each had 3. Knight and Kamryn Fausel each added an ace. Defensively, Selinsky led the way with 27 digs. Walker, Kamryn Fausel and Sica-Calel each collected 9 digs, Dodson had 8, Knight added 7, and Oberholzer finished with 5. The JV Saints fell to Newcomerstown in two sets. TCC returns to action Saturday at home against West Branch in a non-conference matchup. JV begins at 11 a.m., with varsity to follow.
