Tuscarawas Central Catholic Cross Country Runners Shine at IVC Championship; Saints Advance to Districts Saturday October 17, 2026 — The Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School cross country team put together a stellar team performance this past weekend at the Inter-Valley Conference (IVC) Championship hosted by Sandy Valley, highlighted by individual league honors and strong times across the board. Representing the Saints with grit and determination, the trio of varsity runners made their school proud against top-tier conference competition. • Junior Alex Mercier led the way for TCC, blazing across the finish line with an impressive time of 17:49 and an 8th place finish overall. His top 10 finish run earned him 2nd Team All-IVC honors and a well-deserved league medal. • Junior Collin Virag turned in a very strong performance of his own, clocking in at 20:55 to capture an All-IVC Honorable Mention recognition, also securing a medal for the Saints. • Freshman Gavin Virag rounded out the day for Tuscarawas Central Catholic, leaving everything on the course with a tough-fought time of 26:15. With the conference championship meet now in the books, all three Saints runners turn their focus toward the post season. The team will travel to Cambridge next week to compete in the OHSAA District Tournament, looking to carry this momentum forward. Congratulations to Alex, Collin, and Gavin, and best of luck at Districts as they represent the Saints!
