TCC Volleyball: Saints defeated Newcomerstown

The Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints defeated Newcomerstown in straight sets tonight, winning 25-16, 25-18, 25-14. Senior Khloe Trivoli led the offensive charge with 14 kills and added 3 blocks at the net, setting the tone early and often. Setter Jess Selinsky kept the offense running smoothly, dishing out 20 assists and serving up 5. Defensively, Miya Olson anchored the back row with 13 digs and contributed 5 kills, while Ryann Walker added 9 digs and 3 aces to keep the Trojans on their heels throughout the match. Nora Jackson also made a major impact, recording 6 aces and 8 kills, helping the Saints maintain pressure from the service line and in the front row. Other contributors included Suzanna Sica Calel with 6 digs, Wynter Hayes with 4 digs, Angel McConnell with 2 digs and 2 aces, and Bella Milburn who added a block in a solid defensive effort. The JV fell to Newcomerstown (24-26, 20-25). Leading the JV was Lynsie Tienarend with 6 kills, Addi Meryo with 7 assists and 3 aces, and Suzanna Sica Calel with 7 digs. The Saints will host the annual pink out against Newark Catholic on Saturday. The festivities will begin at 9a with the JrH followed by the high school. All money raised for the day will be donated to the Union Cleveland Clinic Radiology Department and earmarked for the breast cancer patients.
